NEWS 2023!

Before 2023, we have taken a new approach to the Swedish Triathlon Cup. A lot of changes, mainly for Master classes and the Association Cup.
We have several competitions that are part of STC and there are different competition levels that generate different amount of points.

Individually:

• Several competitions in STC
• The medium and long distance races are included in the STC
• Multiple levels of competitions

Association Cup

• Multiple participants generate points for the association in each class
• ​Difference in the distribution of points between SM/RM and the other sub-competitions

Age Group Total* = New concept

• All masters compete against each other regardless of age.
• Funded by organizers (more participants = better prices)

To be able to participate in the Swedish Triathlon Cup, you must present an A-license (18 years and over) or  
B-license (up to 17 years) issued by the Swedish Triathlon Association. The license must be valid from January 1th to December 31th.

​To be included in the overall cup, you must have participated in at least 2 sub-competitions.

* In order for Juniors to be able to take points in the Senior Cup, the start for both classes must go at the same time.

POINTS DISTRIBUTION - INDIVIDUALLY

The system is basically based on previous point counting. The points are distributed to participant no. 50. With an extra competition level, a point level has been added.

​Shared placement in the overall cup

In the case of shared placements, the following distinction rules apply:

• At first; most number of wins, second places, third places, etc.
• Secondly, mutual meetings
• Thirdly
  - Senior (elite)/master classes - best placement at SM/RM Standard distance
  - Junior/youth classes - best placement at JSM/USM Sprint distance
  - Boys/girls classes - best placement at the competition in connection with the SM Week

POINTS DISTRIBUTION - ASSOCIATION CUP

In the association cup, the association is awarded points for member placement 1-25 in the Boys/Girls 14-15, Youth 16-17, Junior 18-19 year, Senior and all Master classes. All SM/RM classes give points 1-25 per class with SM/RM status. Winner generates 50 points, second place 48 points, etc. See the table on the right.

Other sub-competitions are scored "from behind". This means that more participants in classes generate more points for the winner of the class.

Ex. 1: In the Youth class there are 10 participants, the one who comes last generates 2 points for his association, position 9 = 4 points etc., winner generates 20 points.

Ex. 2: In a Master 70-74 years there are 2 participants, the one who comes last generates 2 points for his association and the winner generates 4 points.

Ex. 3: In a Senior class there are 20 participants, the one who comes last generates 2 points for his association, placement 24 = 4 points etc., winner generates 40 points.

PRIZE MONEY

Per sub-competition
For all competitions in the Swedish Triathlon Cup, it is up to each organizer to decide on prizes/prize money.

STC totalt
The Swedish Triathlon Cup 2023 (senior) is distributed
100.000 SEK between those primarily placed in the final results. The prize money is distributed according to the table.

When the prize money will be distributed, we will come back on that.
